I am a Canadian-born mother of five, and wife of one amazing husband. My journey eventually leading to my present work began insidiously. As a child, I was always creating something, including 'paper shoes' at age five. In the seventh-grade art class, a pen and ink art assignment revealed an unknown ability not uncommon in my family; my late grandmother was artistic, and my late uncle is a celebrated, well-known Canadian sculptor.

Despite having had five children within eight years, nothing could inhibit my ever-present, overflowing passion; I surrendered to my relentless, insatiable craving to create. Besides my part-time position as a forensic assault nurse, and my hobbies which include sewing, knitting, spinning wool, guitar playing, songwriting and performing in coffee houses, I have constructed stained glass windows and have had several medical illustrations published. I began painting on canvas, but soon realized I was unable to part with my projects. Painting on walls seemed a better option; I'd have to leave walls with their rightful owners!

Presently, I am employed part-time as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, while focusing on my writing, illustrating, and managing my blog. My first book, a memoir titled Room in the Heart, a Childhood Undone, a Pact to Love Fulfilled, details the story I almost didn't get to tell. Realizing the need for others to understand the impact of abuse, I began a Facebook page, which has over 10,000 followers. I started to realize that men are abused too. Thus began the formation of another, more active Facebook page, specifically for men who are victims of abuse.

Room in the Heart is now followed by a children's book, The Tale of Lucky and Chuck. This is the first in a series of six books, all based on actual animal stories my family and I have experienced. These books will include my watercolor illustrations, and each has an underlying focus to impact upon respecting nature and loyalty while exploring the repercussions entailed in decision-making.

My trademark is the extraordinary detail and definition which 'narrate' my murals, illustrations and legal reports for my work as a forensic nurse. My passion is the message that flows through all I endeavor; making a difference for others. Being an illustrator, muralist and writer assure me the opportunity to have a positive impact upon my patients, mural commissioners, and especially my readers.
